All-in-one PCs

All-in-one PCs: What to Look For

Keep in mind when purchasing an all-in-one PC, that you can't upgrade most of the components after purchase. This means that you have to be very sure about the decision you make. There are a few important aspects to keep in mind when shopping around.
System Performance
System performance determines how well your all-in-one PC will operate. If you're into graphic design and photo editing, then you'll want a home PC with a high-resolution display.
Look for processors with at least 64 bits, and at 6GBs of RAM. As computers advance, more memory becomes standard. Many all-in-one PCs have at least 1TB or more to their memory. Fast, higher-end models are more likely to load quickly when it comes to browsing the internet and playing movies. Because you can't upgrade components in an all-in-one PC, think of your computer's longevity and the type of work it will do over the years. If you have a large movie or music collection, then hard drive space is a crucial component to consider. Unless you plan to use an external hard drive for additional storage, you'll want a PC with ample room that you can grow into overtime.
Features
Your all-in-one desktop should come with useful features that will last years to come. An HDMI-in/out port is very useful if you want to connect a game console, TV, Blu-ray drive or monitor to your PC. This gives you great versatility and the freedom to watch movies and play video games with friends and family.
Ample USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports are also good to have. That way, you can connect external devices such as an extra hard drive and peripherals without running out of space. Some of the higher-end all-in-one desktop PCs also come with Thunderbolt ports that make data transfer faster.
Design
A big factor of all-in-one computers is the design aspect. Most are lightweight enough to moved from room to room inside your home, which is great if you have limited space. The PCs have a clean look and feel that fits well with most spaces. They have virtually no wires and there's no bulky stationary system to make room for, so they're aesthetically appealing. Perhaps the best part of their design element is the beautiful, gigantic widescreen that draws you right in.
All-in-one PCs are the ideal combination between laptops and stationary PCs. They offer powerful performance and robust features, while remaining light and portable. If you have limited space or want a PC that looks great in any setting, then these types of home PCs are the ones to consider.
